Vegas Councilman took thousands in puppy mill money months before voting with the puppy mills.

The Las Vegas City Council voted in 2016 to prohibit local pet stores from selling animals they got from so-called puppy mills. But before the new ordinance could take affect last month, a new LV City Council voted Nov. 14 to reverse itself and repeal the ban.
And what was new about the Council and its vote of only one year earlier? New City Council member Steve Seroka, voted to lift the ban, thereby flipping the Council, that’s what.
It’s a controversial issue; there are those who think there should be more choice in pet buying. ‘That people in Las Vegas should be able to buy a puppy that was bred inhumanely, in tiny, filthy, wire-floored cages, if they want, and not have to buy through accredited animal care facility suppliers or rescue organizations. Buyer beware, right?
But most people think this horrific practice in which the operator breeds puppies at a high-volume, churning them out for profit, only to be discarded like trash - or spoiled meat – if they can’t be sold fast enough, is disgusting. And the Las Vegas City Council used to agree.
That is, until its makeup changed and Steve Seroka joined the Council. His vote and one other reversed the Council.
So he disagrees with most people and supports this horrific money making scheme. Others on the Council do, too.
But did they also take $5000 in campaign monies from the very people selling puppy mill puppies in Las Vegas less than four months before the vote?

Of only 528 contributions to his entire campaign, that $5000 represented one of the very largest contributions Seroka received.
Is Seroka’s vote for sale to highest bidder? A nice check buys you his vote?
There are lots of pet stores in the country that don’t deal with puppy mills – and not because they’re legally prohibited from it.
But taking thousands of dollars of puppy mill money just months before voting for them and reversing the Las Vegas City Council; now that’s really disgusting.
